The Honda Insight is set to re-write the economics of Hybrid ownership within Land. The bottom line? Near the price of grease heading north and a pricepoint about $30000 (that’s $10000 cheaper than a Toyota Prius) the Insight could well be the right vehicle for Honda at exactly the right time. The new Insight is basically a fuel-efficient city commuter car with very few inherent compromises. Eco-cool features? Plenty — how about fuel-saving automatic engine shutdown when you’re stopped in traffic, plus associate ‘eco coaching’ driving indicator that trains you to drive for peak fuel efficiency? Observe the price of the battery- i was associate electircal engineer on a submarine I cognize batteries very well. I cant see them lasting longer than 7 years and they will have to beryllium renew. also battery charge cough up efficency drops substantially when temperature departs from 80F (cold more thus then scalding).
what are you scrutiny your hybrid too. civic to civic– no you arent saving any money since the civic gets high 30′s next to they route MPG. you can buy a lot of gas for 10,000. Assuming you have a 14 gallon tank and gas is 3.00 a galon you can buy 238 tanks of state for 10,000. If you use 5 tanks amonth- thats 47 months worth of gas. the average automobile loan is 5 years. COnsidering the extra interest you pay on 10,000 and you see where you are at.
Plus they dont comfort the enviornment!!!. yes you save lipide which is why you receive levy stop, but wherever are we gonna store all these highly toxicant batteries that each weigh 300-500 lbs. there are suchlike 70,000 hybrid cars. reason Erin brockovich
