The first Hybrid car in the U.S.A was the Honda Insight in 2001. It got busy 66mpg highway. It is still the most fuel efficient Hybrid car today. It has a 3 cylinder engine with 89HP and an electric motor. It is stagnant able to keep up near traffic because it was small and light.

The 2nd Hybrid car in U.S. was the Toyota Prius which got up to 58mpg. Some say 60mpg highway.

The 1st American Crossed saloon was the Ford Escape SUV.
